Dr. W.B. (Wouter) Teeuw

In 1989 Wouter Teeuw graduated cum laude in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology. His graduation project was about multiresolution image processing. In 1993 he gained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Twente. His thesis addressed the storage and management of database objects and other objects in distributed systems. During his doctoral research he spent three months at ETH Zürich. After receiving his doctorate, Teeuw joined the Telematics Research Centre in Enschede, which later became part of the Telematics Institute, now called Novay. As principal researcher there, he worked for 15 years in areas such as conceptual modelling, distributed systems, mobile services and behaviour modification. He was project manager for several multidisciplinary research and consultancy projects.

Research focus
For the past five years Teeuw has focused on project management and project development in the applications of technology in social sectors such as safety, security and mobility. In September 2008 he was appointed Professor of Ambient Intelligence at Saxion.
